Paul Allen is an experienced entrepreneur. He has helped start almost a dozen companies in 18 years. His first, Infobases Inc. made the Inc. 500 list in 1996. Paul then co-founded Ancestry.com, now the largest genealogy company in the world.
Ancestry launched a service for families to build their own free, private websites. Now called MyFamily.com, it was one of the fastest growing internet sites of all time. MyFamily.com raised more than $75 million in venture capital in just four years.
In 2002, he founded 10x Marketing, an internet marketing firm. He applied 196 internet marketing tactics that helped bring over 10 million monthly visitors to MyFamily.com’s web site.
Paul recently founded Provo Labs, which incubates internet-based startup companies. He teaches Internet Marketing at Brigham Young University, writes a column for Connect Magazine, and blogs at www.paulallen.net.
